The ICDM 13 Data Mining in Biomedical Informatics and Healthcare workshop aims to provide a forum for data miners, informaticists and clinical researchers to share information on their latest investigations in applying data mining techniques to biomedical and healthcare data. The broader context of the workshop comprehends artificial intelligence, information retrieval, machine learning, and natural language processing. Submissions are invited to address the need for developing new methods to mine, summarize and integrate the huge volume and diverse modalities of the structured and unstructured biomedical and healthcare data that can potentially lead to significant advances in the field.

Paper Submission

Paper submissions will be done through the IEEE ICDM Workshop CyberChair submission system. Papers should be limited to a maximum of *8* pages, and follow the IEEE ICDM format requirements ( Papers must be submitted online ( in PDF format by the August 17th 2013 deadline. Papers will be peer-reviewed using a triple-blind review process, in which papers do not include authorship information. All accepted workshop papers will be published in a formal proceedings by the IEEE Computer Society Press and will be indexed in IEEE Xplore. One paper will be selected for the best paper award ($1000 cash sponsored by Fresenius Medical Care), which will be presented at the workshop. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit extended papers to the special issue "Data Mining in Biomedical Informatics and Healthcare" of the Computers in Biology and Medicine Journal.
