Last Friday Dampa hosted a speaker from the Data Science Team at Hyatt. The Data Science team is part of a greater Analytics and Innovation team. Analytics supports large scale data related projects throughout the company and Innovation tests new technologies at hotels. Within Analytics, data scientists at Hyatt support business needs focused on predictive modeling, with examples focusing on marketing spend and customer behavior.
Speaker Danny Malter graduated from the M.S. Predictive Analytics program at DePaul in the Fall of 2017 and joined Hyatt as a data scientist in October. Current projects include modeling customer lifetime value and predicting how many room nights Hyatt loyalty members will book in the next 12 months. Prior to Hyatt, he worked at Cengage Learning as a data analyst.
